These former senior executives from southern France and Alsace speak passionately about the
Marrakchi heritage that they want contribute to preserving. It was during their midlife
crisis that they decided to change their lives. In 2004, they purchased an old family's Riad in the
Medina of Marrakech, specifically in the famous Dar El Bacha district, to create their guesthouse.
At a time when the trend was to tear everything down to create contemporary spaces, they decided
to preserve the spirit of the place.
Nearly two years of work were still necessary to
renovate everything and provide the house with the comfort that guests rightfully expect.
The original plans were preserved, including the arches, windows with wrought iron bars, and most of
the
antique doors.
The renovation and rare additions were meticulously entrusted to the best artisans: tataoui
craftsmen, intricate stucco work, wrought iron, woodwork, tadelakt, and zellige tiles.
The 13 rooms,
filled with antique furniture and objects, have welcomed travelers from around the world, charmed by
the allure of this ancestral Riad and the warm hospitality of the staff. No less than 10 people are
dedicated to the care of the guests, from receptionists to drivers, from housekeepers to
chambermaids, not forgetting the now famous cook, Dalila, who gives cooking and pastry classes to
visitors.
For all these reasons, Riad Les Trois Palmiers regularly receives accolades from the largest
traveler review sites. It's a reward that crowns Caroline and Patrick's efforts to offer the comfort
of a luxury guesthouse without sacrificing conviviality. "The greatest compliment visitors can give
us is to say they felt at home," assures the couple.
